Hriday Goyal
- Founder & CEO
I am Hriday Goyal, Founder and CEO of the non-government organization "One Sapling at a Time". I believe that we can “make the Earth green, One Sapling at a Time.” "Every little effort counts" as every individual would contribute on a personal level which collectively would help in combating climate change. I started the initiative "One Sapling at a Time" to be an organization run by teenagers as I believe that we are the future and we need to take responsibility for it. The aim is to spread awareness and grow our team and organization ever since we planted our first sapling.
Our initiative of planting "One Sapling at a Time" helps individuals support reforestation and urban forestry while tackling climate change and global warming by “thinking globally and acting locally”. Moreover, leaving behind a "Green Footprint" across the world on a personal level.
Trees are of invaluable importance to our environment and human well‑being by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, supporting wildlife and so much more on a social, personal, and economic value.
Consequently, the best time to plant trees is NOW! Let's join hands for a better tomorrow, making Earth green, One Sapling at a Time 🌱🌍 - @hridaygxyal
My Story
From an early age, I was surrounded by nature, lessons taught by my elder generations about the importance of flora and fauna have not only been imprinted but have blossomed into a cause I feel passionate about leading. From a seedling to a sapling and finally into a majestic tree.
"Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago". This quote is relatable to the opportunities we offer to our volunteers and teammates, as we believe in being "the giver" and "the provider" as well as being selfless as a result, giving to the environment. To repay for the reckless and unsustainable exploitation by our current and previous generations.

Moreover, studies have shown that spending time around trees and looking at trees is good for one's physical and mental well-being as it reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and improves mood. Numerous studies show that both exercising in forests and simply sitting and looking at trees reduce blood pressure as well as stress-related hormones and adrenaline.
As a result, being amidst nature has helped me to detox, reflect, and improve myself as a human being.
Through your help, our non-government organization will grow and leave a mark on our beautiful mother Earth, "One Sapling at a Time".

"What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another”. Our actions here at One Sapling at a Time are pertinent to the quote above, which reflects our core values and beliefs because the way we treat nature is reiterating how nature will treat us.
As I grew older, I learned the benefits of planting trees on both the environment and one's physical and mental well-being which has led to the inception of One Sapling at a Time.
In addition, trees are considered a critical resource because of the many ways they support life on Earth. They release oxygen into the atmosphere, absorb carbon dioxide, provide habitat and food for wildlife and humans, regulate the water cycle, and much more.
